Political correctness suppresses free speech and creates an environment where open discussion is stifled by putting up boundaries on offensive speech and behavior.

The problem is, WHO DETERMINES THOSE BOUNDARIES?

All one needs to do is look at history and see what happens when boundaries are established by those in power.

Boundaries are usually determined by the personal beliefs and values of those in power.

This means that the definition of what is offensive can change with each group that comes into power.

So if an old-time Roman Catholic Priest were in charge, it would be like the Inquisition.

If it were a Communist, like Stalin, It would be the Gulags.
If it were a Muslim, beheadings of all infidels.

If it were Hitler, the death camps.

If it were AOC or Greta Thornbird, prison for climate deniers.

Today’s students are the most privileged individuals in human history.

However, they have the attitude that they are the target of incessant and virtually lethal oppression.

Hence, their view that universities are places of lethal threat, and it leads to a belief that they need to silence non-conforming speech through any means necessary.

College is supposed to prepare young people for the "real world."

The recent demand by some college students for "safe spaces" at Yale and the University of Missouri, where they won't be offended by politically incorrect behavior, is not found in the real world.

Here is What Political Correctness Looks Like

California
Five students were sent home from school for wearing shirts that displayed the American flag on the Mexican holiday of Cinco de Mayo.
North Carolina
A judge ruled that it is unconstitutional (in North Carolina) to offer license plates that say Choose Life” on them.
United States
The term “manhole” is being replaced with the terms “utility hole” or “maintenance hole”. What a**hole thought of that?
